I am an incredibly talented self taught cook. I have not been taught much about cooking. Any way you could try and teach me how to Julienne and any other cuts you feel are important?
Also could you tell me more, important things for a hobby cook with no training should try and learn?

Knife skills are very important, but cannot be told without picture tutorials which we will be adding sometime in the near future. Take a look in the cook's reference section at the bottom of the screen, there is tons of useful information on the 101 tips page to teach the home cook some tricks of the trade.
