White wine worcerstershire sauce vs. cooking white wine???

Is it okay to use cooking wine (white) as a sub
for white wine worcestershire sauce? it's not a significant
amount...maybe a couple of tablespoons? any input is GREATLY
appreciated. Thanks!!!

Higherlovetx, You can substitute any ingredient when you cook. It is really just what you like. You won't be able to tell a difference. It will still be good, just with a different taste. However, cooking wine is just very vinigary cheap wine. I would suggest substituting real white wine if you have it on hand. When you cook with wine, all of the alcohol is cooked out, so if you don't drink alcohol, there's nothing to worry about as far as the consumption of the substance. Weather it be cooking wine, worcestershire, wine or even lemon juice, the ingredient is only to add acidity so experiment and use what tastes best to you. Remember, there are no rules, recipes are all about what tastes best to you.

Chef Jimmy, thanks for making cooking with wine more meaningful. I really never understood why we use wine, or lemon juice, worcester, etc. acidity is what we ar after. thanks,
