We would like to welcome you to CookingSpot.com. Thank you for stopping by. We hope to provide you with many helpful tips on grilling. Please feel free to share your grilling stories, traditions and equipment with your fellow members. Grilling is a very popular cooking technique in the U.S. Three out of four American households own a grill so it's safe to say most of the members here fall in to that category. Grilling is a great way to add flavor to meat and vegetables without using fat.

I have found that if you are grilling that you need to stay close and turn your food every 1 to 2 minutes

Which is why my husband does all the grilling. I don't have the patience. Plus the kids always bug me while I'm  cooking. Imagine what those steaks would look like. I have a great recipe for BBQ though.

Blackberry BBQ Sauce

Ingredients

1/2 C. blackberry preserves
1 1/2 C. ketchup
1/8 C. packed brown sugar
1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper
1/4 tsp. mustard powder
2 Tbs. red wine vinegar

Directions

In a medium mixing bowl, mix together blackberry jam, ketchup, brown sugar, cayenne, mustard powder, and red wine vinegar. Brush on ribs or chicken for one tasty barbecue!

Makes 2 cups.
